Can I combine different probiotics?

A combination of two or more BIOMES' probiotic dietary supplements is possible. However, in order for the desired microbes to develop optimally, we recommend not to take more than one probiotic at a time. The recommended maximum number of capsules is 2 per day. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. In probiotic cultures, diversity should be taken into account as in normal diets. A healthy lifestyle and diet should lead to introduced cultures settling in the intestine.

Is it problematic to take medication in addition to probiotics?

There are no known side effects with medication. The recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced, and varied nutrition.

„How long do I have to take a probiotic to feel improvement?”

Intaining a healthy intestinal flora is a long-term concern. A probiotic diet, plus food supplements if needed, can lead to a noticeable improvement after just a few weeks or months. Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes are a great class of many subordinate species. On both sides there are some useful, and some less useful. From the Firmicutes we can establish many useful ones that displace the less useful ones. They have partially similar modes of action to those of some Bacteroidetes - those bacteria that cannot yet be cultivated, and administered industrially. We can (re-)colonise some of them with a very broad nutrition, and feed them well with fibre. However, we cannot reintroduce some bacteria. They have been lost caused by factors such as modern lifestyles. All the bacteria we can settle through a broad nutrition should be adequate to restore a healthy balance.

Not all probiotics are the same. It is decisive which bacterial strains are contained in which number, and in which quality. In addition, it is important that the desired bacterial cultures also arrive in the colon. That is why it is important to take them in capsule form. Their use is primarily intended for people whose intestinal flora is out of balance.
